Kayak Rentals
Prepaid advance reservations
required by phone (256) 447-8383. Have your VISA, MasterCard, Discover,
American Express credit or debit card handy when calling. No rentals if
water level is greater than 500cfs, or if water is muddy, or if weather
conditions are poor, or if daytime outdoor temperature is less than 70
degrees. (1) person per kayak only. No small children (paddler must be able
to control his/her own rental kayak). No pets. All rentals & services
offered by Terrapin Outdoor Center are provided at the sole discretion of
Terrapin Outdoor Center and its representatives. Thank you!
Kayak
Retals $30 ea.
(1) person per kayak ONLY. Paddle, life jacket and
shuttle transportation included.
*Ask beforehand about children going by themselves in a solo rental kayak. Often 8,9,
or 10 year old children are capable of doing so, but please inform us of
your particular circumstance. Thank you!
The Trip
We offer the best trips on Terrapin Creek!
3 different trips available. Upper, lower short, and lower long. The
specific trip we are running at any given time is based on water condition
and our sole discretion.
Our
Season
Our
usual projected RENTAL/SHUTTLE SEASON is May through the Sunday
before Labor
Day. Length of RENTAL/SHUTTLE SEASON may vary (shorter or
longer) according to weather & water conditions. If in question, please call (256) 447-8383
to confirm.
Please . . .
Make sure that you are physically fit enough to
handle the demands of a kayak trip. Always wear your life jacket! Take care
of our rental boats & gear as if they were your own. Be responsible and
respectful of others when floating the creek. Respect private property along
the creek. Use common sense and obey the law. No small children (paddler
must be able to control his/her own rental kayak). No pets, littering, alcohol, illegal drugs, glass containers, foul
language, etc. All rental boats must be out of the water by 5pm.
All vehicles need to be
off property by 5pm. Store closes and gates lock at 5pm. We're a family run
business and strive to provide a family-friendly atmosphere for
everyone. Thank you!
